Here is a fabulous opportunity to take part in a one day workshop with Clare Valley felt and fibre artist Maria Holst Salomonsen, held at Shared Arts.
“Immerse yourself in the ancient art of making felt by hand. A one day hat making workshop with felt and fibre artist: Maria Holst Salomonsen
Sunday September 9, 2012 @ SHARED ARTS
9.30 am – 4.00 pm
15 Chapel Street Burra
In this workshop you will learn how to use a resist in felting, enabling the creation of 3D shapes, such as hats. For people who have already learnt how to make a flat piece of felt, this will be an opportunity to add a new dimension to your felting. For newcomers, bring your listening ears and prepare yourself for a day of fun, lots of wonderful fibres and occasional hard work.
Workshop cost $75.00
To secure your place, workshop fees will need to be paid in advance.
You need to bring your own wool. This way, we won’t run out of a particular colour. Supplemental small bags will be for sale on the day, with different colours and fibres to add that last touch of colour that you couldn’t find or didn’t think of.
If you have any questions, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will try to help as best I can.
Spaces are limited, so be quick.
This is the second workshop held by Maria at Shared Arts this year, class sizes are small and her teaching style is very accessible. An accomplished fibre artist, we at the gallery are lucky to often have the opportunity to show her work and highly recommend her workshops.
